Background

I grew up in Aruba and lived in Netherlands at various moments in my life. At 19, I came for the first time to Netherlands for a short time to study and moved back to Aruba, where I actively started painting while building up my career in the finance world.

I followed a few art intensive programs given at that time by art teachers of the Rietveld academy through the art foundation Atelier 89. Afterwards I was also active in an art foundation and met most of the local artists and soon my work started selling on local market and then I knew I could do something with my talent.

I had my first solo art exhibition in May 2000 and sold many of the art works. After this followed a hiatus as I was focused on my family and a finance career.

In 2015 I moved back to Netherlands with my 2 sons for their Univerity education and in 2019 I gave my art career another shot by starting with a realistic oil painting course using the old masters techniques at Art Partout Academy. For 6 years I learned a lot on the techniques, however, my original style is and always was surreal with a magical realism touch.

In 2024, I held my second solo exhibition and this time it was in Ede, Netherlands where I have settled since 2020.

My art works

My work is defined by surrealistic themes that brings forth a message from the heart mostly related to highly spiritual themes and sacred geometry, metafysica or may even be exopolitical. All my personal interests and meditative experiences reflect in my artwork. I love and respect our nature, so in some artworks I give nature the center stage to show off the beauty and uniqueness of either flora or fauna, like beautiful trees, breathtaking landscapes, flowers or plants and exotic animals that are absolutely wonderful gifts of mother nature.
